How to Get Started with Your Plan

Make Your First Payment

The easiest time to make your first payment is when you enroll. If you’ve already made your first payment, great! If not, here are your premium payment options.

Activate Your Online Member Account

For easy access to care and coverage info, activate your Online Member Account

You can use your Online Member Account to:

  • Set up video doctor visits (Virtual 24/7 Care*)
  • Set up My Health Pays® rewards**
  • Download and save your digital ID card
  • Set up Autopay or make payments
  • Change your Primary Care Physician
  • View the status of claims and out-of-pocket costs
  • Review health plan and pharmacy benefits
  • Review your Evidence of Coverage and go paperless
  • Send secure emails
  • And much more

Download Your Digital Member ID

You can access your Digital Member ID Card under “coverage” in your Online Member Account. Your digital card is available online between 24 and 48 hours after your insurance is active. 

Your Digital Member ID Card is also available in the Ambetter Health mobile app. 

Your printed ID Card will be included in your Welcome Packet.

The Ambetter Health app enables you to access your Online Member Account and manage your healthcare benefits wherever you are.

With the Ambetter Health app you can:

  • View, save, or share your Member ID Card
  • Find in-network doctors, specialists, hospitals, and clinics

  • Get answers to questions
  • View covered services and benefits usage (including deductible and maximum out-of-pocket amounts)

Understanding Plan Types

To better understand your plan, it helps to know that Ambetter Health offers four different types of health plans, Premier, Select, Value, and Solutions. Each type offers bronze, silver, and gold level plans. Ambetter Health also offers specialty plans for asthma/chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and diabetes. The plans we offer can vary by location, so you may not see all plan types in your area. This quick overview can help you understand the type of plan you have compared to others that we offer. It can also help you understand types of plans you might be interested in switching to during the next enrollment. 

Premier

Premier plans feature Ambetter Health’s broadest network of healthcare providers and hospitals. This gives you more options to choose from when you need care. With this plan, you choose your Primary Care Physician and you don’t need referrals to see a specialist.

Solutions

Solutions plans are plans designed for Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangements (ICHRAs). A variety of plan options and features enable employees to pick the health plan that’s right for them, with financial support from their employer. 

Premier plans with extra support for Diabetes

Diabetes Premier plans feature Ambetter Health’s broadest network to healthcare providers and hospitals along with special coverage for members who have diabetes. You can choose your own doctors without referral. 

Diabetes care plans are available in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, New Jersey, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas.

Enhanced Asthma/COPD Premier

Enhanced Asthma/COPD Premier plans feature Ambetter Health’s broadest network of healthcare providers and hospitals along with special coverage for members who have Asthma or OCPD. (This includes $0 copays** for preferred medications, including controller and rescue inhalers). You can choose your own doctors without a referral. 

Asthma/COPD care plans are available in Kentucky, North Carolina and Oklahoma.

Select

Select plans provide you with in-person care that starts with the Select provider network. You can choose your own doctors within the Select network and you don’t need referrals. 

Select plans are offered in certain counties in Georgia.

Value

Value plans are designed to give you more affordable coverage and one convenient go-to resources for all your care: your Medical Group. With Value plans, a Primary Care Physician is assigned to you and a referral is required to see other doctors. 

Value plans are offered in certain counties in Florida and Texas.

*Cost sharing may apply when using Virtual 24/7 Care. Virtual 24/7 Care cost share does not apply to HSA plans until the deductible is met and is only applicable when used through the Virtual 24/7 Care program.
