Yoga and meditation represent two ways to help quickly relieve stress in your life. The following are seven yoga and meditation tips to help you relieve stress and anxiety.
- Breathing is crucial. When performing meditation or various yoga poses, it is important that you follow proper breathing techniques. Breathe in through your nose as you complete each yoga pose, holding your breath momentarily before beginning a long-exhaled breath through your mouth.
- Meditate to manage anger. As you meditate, visualize the anger you feel, but without emotion. By observing your anger in this way, you might come up with a solution to help relieve your anger.
- Try these simple yoga poses. Some simple yoga poses to help relieve stress and anxiety include:
- Toe squat pose
- Standing forward bend pose
- Downward dog pose
- Meditate to let go of drama. While meditating, visualize drama as a tangible object that you can pick up or put down. Examine the drama to determine why it seems so important to you. Finally, put the drama down, and let it go.
- Try these more advanced yoga poses. More advanced yoga poses to help relieve stress and anxietyinclude:
- Low lunge pose
- Head-to-knee pose
- Seated bend pose
- Meditate to focus. Meditation can also help you forge a path beyond current stress or anxiety. When meditating, visualize a path through an area you feel comfortable in, and allow your mind to lead you to what you need to do to get past your stress.
- Meditate to relax your body. Meditation can also help relax your body, which in turn promotes healing and releases anxiety. When meditating, tighten and relax the muscles in your body to release tension.
