Pediatric Eye Care with All Plans

Vision care is included with all Ambetter Health plans for members 18 years of age and younger, or 20 years and younger in Kentucky. Coverage includes routine pediatric eye exams, eyewear and medical eye care services.

Adult Vision and Dental Options Available

For adults ages 19 years and older, or 21 and older in Kentucky, Ambetter Health offers multiple health insurance plans that also include vision and dental coverage.* If you’d like insurance coverage for adult vision and dental care, choose a plan with “+ Vision + Adult Dental” in the plan name.

Adult Vision Coverage

Coverage generally includes an annual eye exam and refraction as well as standard eyeglasses or contact lenses. For specific coverage details, shop our plans and use the “Plan details” button for each plan to access the “Summary of Benefits and Coverages” documents.

Adult Dental Coverage

Our adult dental coverage generally includes:

Preventive and Diagnostic Care

  • Routine cleanings
  • Oral exams
  • Bite-wing, full-mouth and panoramic film X-ray exams 
  • Topical fluoride

Basic Dental Care

  • Minor restorative fillings
  • Endodontics
  • Scaling and root planing
  • Periodontal maintenance
  • Simple extractions
  • Adjustments, repairs, relines and rebases for prosthodontics

Major Dental Care

  • Crowns and bridges
  • Dentures
  • Complex extractions and surgical services

*Adult dental and vision plans are available for all adults 19 years of age and older in all Ambetter Health markets except New Jersey and Washington. Plans are available in Kentucky for ages 21 and older because pediatric coverage is through age 20. Coinsurance may be required for dental services.

Some Ambetter Health plans include adult dental and vision coverage. Adult dental and adult vision coverage are not considered essential health benefits; therefore, any advanced premium tax credits received cannot be applied to the amount of your premium attributed to adult dental and adult vision coverage.
