What tips would you offer a new broker interested in selling Affordable Care Act plans? Make sure you truly understand how the marketplace works, what the rules are and how the ACA is interwoven with taxes. Find a strong partner that can help you understand those complicated scenarios you may not have dealt with before, don’t ever guess! Your clients and their families are counting on you.
What do you like the best about the Ambetter plans? Fantastic network in Kansas & Missouri! It allowed our clients to stay with the same doctors and hospitals which they are VERY happy about!
What features of the Ambetter product offering best resonate with most with your clients, our My Health Pays Program, our rates, our network? Something else? Network, Network, Network!
How do you generate new leads? We have a broad network of agents that send their clients to us for their Health insurance needs. Coupled with leads from these agents our current clients constantly refer their family and friends to us to help them as well.
How do you ensure your clients make their binder payment? We provide every client with the amount of their portion of the premium at the time of the enrollment, along with details on how to make their payment. We follow this up with an email containing the same information and send reminders to pay prior to the effective date.
What would you like to see more issuers do in the ACA market or add to the market for the next open enrollment season? Offer more plans with at least one doctor/specialist office visit copay without meeting the deductible. Continue to streamline plan options, a couple of plans per metal level per carrier are enough. Eliminate HMO plans – clients want the freedom to see who they want without a referral.
