Behavioral Health Medication Monitoring Program

Fecha: 10/08/21

Therapeutic Peer Consulting for Polypharmacy

Our health plan has expanded a specialty program focusing on the reduction of polypharmacy to our Ambetter members. The dedicated team of psychiatrists and behavioral health clinicians focus on helping to identify and provide considerations in prescribing that will promote evidence-based psychotropic medication treatment. In line with the clinical best-practice guidelines set forth by organizations such as the American Psychiatric Association (APA) and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP), our goal is to partner with you to:

  • Maximize therapeutic outcomes
  • Identify opportunities for titration of medications and reduction of dosage
  • Review for opportunities of non-pharmacological, psychosocial treatments
  • Assess for side effects and co-occurring medical complications

Starting August 16, our clinicians will begin to review members who have been identified as meeting the criteria for the program. At that time, if one of your patients is identified, you will receive a letter that outlines the process and requests for clinical records.

If you have any questions about this process or what the experience entails, we welcome you to contact us at BHMedicationMonitoringMailbox@Centene.com.

We look forward to working with you for the benefit of our shared membership.
