Ambetter Health Value members are required to obtain a referral from their primary care physician (PCP) to obtain all services outside of a PCP visit, including, but not limited to receiving care from a specialist provider. If your PCP refers you to a specialist provider in the same medical group as your PCP, a referral will not be required. Referrals will be required for care received outside of your medical group. You may seek services from an obstetrician/gynecologist, physical therapist, a behavioral health provider without a referral. You may seek emergency care and urgent care services without a referral.
