While going to the doctor’s office can help you stay healthy, it is also important to take care of yourself between doctor visits. The tips below reveal how you can stay healthy between visits to your doctor.
Exercise
Regular exercise helps alleviate or even prevent diabetes, stroke, and heart disease, among other health conditions. When exercising, remember to:
- Develop an exercise routine.
- Try to exercise at least 30 minutes a day, five days a week.
- Aim for exercise that raises your heart rate for short intervals.
Eat Right
In addition to exercising, eating the right foods keeps you healthy. When developing a diet plan, keep the following advice in mind:
- Eat smaller, more frequent meals, including breakfast.
- Make a meal schedule and stick to it.
- Eat fresh fruits and vegetables, including leafy greens.
- Drink plenty of water.
- Limit caffeinated beverages.
Get Plenty of Sleep
Along with exercising and eating right, getting the rest you need is an important factor in any self-care routine. When determining how much sleep you need, remember the following:
- Go to bed at a decent hour.
- Try to get at least seven to nine hours of sleep.
- Refrain from using mobile devices when lying down for the night.
