You May Receive a Premium Rebate This Year

Date: 10/08/26

Some Ambetter Health members may receive a premium rebate this year. This rebate is based on a federal requirement called the Medical Loss Ratio (MLR). The MLR rule helps make sure health plans spend most premium dollars on medical care and quality improvements. If certain plans do not meet this requirement, members may get money back.

Why You May Get a Rebate

  • The Affordable Care Act (ACA) sets rules for how health plans use premium dollars. These rules help ensure you get value from your coverage.
  • If a health plan spends less than required on medical care, it must return part of the premium to members. This is called a rebate.

Who Will Receive a Rebate

Not all members will receive a rebate.

  • Rebates are based on your specific health plan and state.
  • You must have been enrolled during the applicable year.
  • Some active and former members may qualify.

Important: Receiving a rebate is not guaranteed for all members.

When to Expect Your Letter

  • Rebate letters will be mailed by September 30.
  • Please allow time for mail delivery.
  • If you qualify, you should receive your letter by October 15.

How You Will Receive Your Rebate

If you qualify, your rebate will be sent in one of two ways:

1. Premium Credit (Active Members)

  • Your rebate will be applied automatically to your account.
  • It will reduce your next premium payment or any amount you owe.
  • No action is needed.

You can log in to your Online Member Account to view the adjustment.

2. Check (Some Active or Former Members)

  • You will receive a check by mail.
  • Please cash or deposit it as soon as possible.

What You Should Do Next

  • Watch your mail for a rebate letter.
  • Review your Online Member Account for updates.
  • If you receive a check, cash it promptly.
  • If you receive a credit, it will be applied automatically.
