New Ambetter Policy/Procedure for Processing Authorization Approval Letters

Thank you for your partnership with Ambetter from Sunflower Health Plan. We appreciate your help in achieving our shared goal of delivering quality, accessible and affordable healthcare to our members.
In order to provide the highest quality treatment and encourage appropriate utilization of resources, we are informing you of a new procedure for Ambetter approval letters. Effective October 12, 2020, we will stop sending hard copy or paper notifications for authorization approvals and will start notifying providers of approvals through the Secure Provider Portal at https://provider.sunflowerhealthplan.com.
Hard copies of denial letters will still be mailed to both you and the member. You will be able to view approval or denial status in real time on the portal.
Portal Registration
To ensure you can receive approval notifications, you must create a user account and register on our Secure Provider Portal. Instructions on how to create an account and register are available on the login screen of the secure provider portal at provider.sunflowerhealthplan.com.
