Ambetter Behavior Health Authorizations Live Reviews

Ambetter from Sunflower Health Plan is now offering a live review option for behavioral health authorization concurrent review. Live review offers providers the ability to:

• Allow for more immediate authorization decision information. Decisions can often be made immediately.
• Maximize efficiency by preventing email/phone/fax request for information. During the live review request, our team can ask the additional questions needed up front.
• Build a collaborative relationship with our Utilization Management team.
• Obtain authorization decisions quickly. A series of questions often takes 10 minutes or less to complete the review and the provider is notified of the decision at that time. 
• Address multiple members at once. Our Utilization Management team can often complete three to four reviews in less than a half an hour.

Live review is encouraged but is not required. The Ambetter Behavioral Health Utilization Management team will outreach on the last covered day of the authorization and ask if you would like to use live review as an option.
